Dorset’s premier independent taxi company has launched a nationwide service to enhance the customer experience, help local community taxi and private hire companies across the UK and help combat global competitors.
Long-established PRC Streamline Taxis, which covers Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne and surrounding areas, has introduced a national taxi network on its app.
Using iCabbi technology, the company can now offer a nationwide service on the app and potentially link with thousands of drivers right across the country.
The move comes as the taxi and private hire industry in the UK consolidates using new technology utilising locally licensed drivers.
Now PRC Streamline Taxis, which has roots stretching back to the 1950s, can offer the same quick, easy and convenient service to their passengers with the advantage of using the same app wherever they go.
The PRC Streamline app can be used in the likes of London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow and even up to Inverness to see what cars are available all over mainland UK.
The company says that the coverage offered is better than the big global players which tend to cluster around large urban areas – and the new national taxi network has the potential to reach 60,000 licensed drivers from the smallest towns and villages to the largest cities.

In the coming weeks, the reach of PRC Streamlines Taxi app will also extend to Spain, Belgium and Sweden and soon more European destinations will be added.
Nicky added that PRC Streamline Taxis was a firm believer in community building and engagement and was proud to be a member of the Bournemouth Town Centre BID and both Bournemouth and Dorset Chambers of Commerce.
The company had also supported many local businesses over the years in the BCP area through advertising and sponsorship, including Lighthouse Poole, AFC Bournemouth, Poole Marina, Wimborne Festival, Bournemouth One Radio and Bourne Free Pride.
