BCTC Board to visit The Mayor’s Parlour

The Mayor of Bournemouth , Cllr Roberto Rocca , kindly invited the BCTC Board to visit The Mayor’s Parlour in the ‘old Town Hall’ , now BCP Civic Offices , and the  Council Chamber itself.
The current President served as a Bournemouth Councillor and BCP Council Chairman so he was able to add his customary amusing anecdotes.
The 110 years of history , and prior to the creation of BCTC , its pre-cursor the Tradesmen’s Association from 1890s , the Mayor’s Parlour holds historic and valuable silver artefacts from Bournemouth Chamber’s history.
A most illuminating two hours in the historic “Hotel Mont D’Or” ( 1914-15 , British Indian Army Hospital 8A” ) gave newer members of bctc an eye-opening insight into the Chamber’s historic standing.
Cllr Rocca has been a member of bctc for some years too.
The President thanked him , and both Maces on duty , for their hospitality.
